The Statue of the former Communist dictator came to the Center of the Universe in 1995 by way of Slovakia and Issaquah after it was discovered in a landfill in a former Soviet bloc country. This year, lighting of the statue came with just a small glitch: Someone cut the cords to the red lights hanging from the Bronze image of the former communist dictator. Maybe it was a political statement, maybe it was just vandalism.
